Poor Women are engaged in a diverse number of occupations for survival. But they have access neither to improved technology nor to institutional credit and marketing. They do not have access also to institutional health facilities, and even where they exist, the utilization is extremely low.

The Payakaraopeta Women’s Mutually Aided Co-operative Thrift and Credit Society (PWMACTCS) was established on 23rd September 1997 under the APMACS Act 1995 and taken over the activity of thrift and credit for the rural women from the Payakaraopeta Stri Sanghala Abhivruthi Samakya (PSSAS), which was doing the program from 1994-95.
